On 31 July, the transition period under Regulation (EU) 2023/1545 ended. Only new cosmetic products meeting the requirements for identifying fragrance allergens on labelling may now be placed on the European Union market.
This amendment to Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009 aims to improve the transparency of information available to consumers and support informed choices.
What about existing products? Products placed on the market before that date may continue to be sold until 31 July 2028, during the sell-through period provided for in the legislation.
Now is the ideal time to check that new products meet all requirements and that an adaptation plan exists for products already on sale.
PhaRegistrum can support your company in reviewing labelling and meeting the new regulatory obligations.
