Safety data sheets (SDS) are mandatory for chemical substances and mixtures under the REACH Regulation (No. 1907/2006), but did you know that cosmetic products are excluded from this obligation?
Cosmetics have their own legislation, Regulation No. 1223/2009, which provides for the necessary information to be supplied through labelling or a leaflet, without an SDS.
Although mandatory in other sectors, SDS requirements therefore do not apply to cosmetic products.
