Why correct classification of borderline products matters

Why correct classification of borderline products matters

Did you know that late last year INFARMED, I.P. suspended products incorrectly classified as cosmetics, including hydrogen peroxide and camphorated alcohol?

These products did not meet the definition of a cosmetic under Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009 and Portuguese Decree-Law No. 23/2025, because their primary purpose was not a cosmetic function.

Correct classification directly affects user safety and legal compliance.

PhaRegistrum helps clients avoid risks and ensure their products are correctly classified and fully compliant with Portuguese and European legislation.
