Regulation (EU) 2026/405 has been published, establishing a new regulatory framework for detergents and surfactants in the European Union.
Applicable from 23 September 2029, the new regulation introduces requirements focusing on sustainability, transparency, safety and product traceability.
The main changes include:
- New labelling requirements, including information on the UFI and allergenic substances in fragrances.
- Digital labelling, allowing some mandatory information to be provided digitally, for example through QR codes.
- Distance selling, with stronger requirements for information available in online offers.
- A Digital Product Passport (DPP), linked to a unique identifier and containing relevant product information.
Although application is scheduled for 2029, preparation starts now. Has your organisation assessed the impact of this regulation on its portfolio?
